Arboretum

This week, Henry and I headed over to the Dallas Arboretum with our friends Desarae and Michael. Desarae packed us a yummy picnic lunch and we ate by the lake... hoping to get some breeze off the water.
Henry tried to protect us from this crazy squirrel that wanted our food.

Michael and Henry enjoying the water fall

It was such a HOT day- so we sought out another water feature. When these boys get older, we'll let them play it in.

By the end of the day- WORN OUT!

We really enjoyed hanging out with Desarae and Michael... we definitely want to go back with them... maybe we'll wait until the fall when it's cooler :)

Random Happenings...

A couple of weekends ago, we went to our sweet friend, Luke's 2 year old birthday party.
He looked great as a train conductor!

Henry really enjoyed playing with all of Luke's cars and trains.

Random Sunday getting ready for church.

Last Monday, we went over to Kristen's house for a play date with lots of friends.
Henry loved playing with his "Aunt" Amy.

Kristen's little girl, Ava, was asleep, so Amy held up their fancy video monitor so that Ava could be in the picture.

We were lucky enough to see the Burkharts, too. They came up for a quick visit.
Here are Jenny and our hostess, Kristen.
Last Tuesday, we went out to my grandparents' house to see them and my mom, sister, and nieces who had come in for the day.

Henry and Madeline getting in some kind of mischief.

Mammaw and Sarah Grace

Pappaw and Henry

That's about all.....

Hooray for Brinley Jane!

Our sweet friend, Brinely Jane McAdams, was born on June 10th weighing in at 8 lbs 8 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Last night, we got to go meet her and visit with her parents, Amy and Rocky- who are doing really well.

Such a sweet little bundle!

Great Friends!

Amy will be such a wonderful mom!!!

It was awesome to finally meet little Miss B! Too bad her friend, Henry, was such a turkey in the hospital room... squealing and going berserk- hope it didn't scar her forever!

I couldn't take it anymore!

Henry's Hair!
What a mess!

So we booked it to a kid's hair cut place. (sorry PawPaw)
At first, Henry DID NOT like what was going on.

Then he started enjoying himself.
Wouldn't you if you got to sit in this awesome car!
(At one point, he was grabbed the wheel and said "MMM MMM"- his version of vroom, vroom)

A final buzz- she was nice enough to leave the sideburns alone.

Ta-Dah!

U Pick It!

Today we went to a local farm to pick strawberries with our friends Casey and Audrey.
We thought that going down the row "less traveled" would guarantee us a better selection of fruit, but Henry and Audrey did not appreciate the wild grass smothering them.

Henry wanted to pick a winner.

Here goes nothing!

OOO, sour!

Monday at the Zoo

June is Zoo Member Appreciation Month. It opens early on Mondays and has special demonstrations. Well, we missed the "Hippo enrichment feeding", but Henry did get to enjoy a yummy banana that they were handing out.

Busy Weekend

Henry and I started off this weekend meeting up for lunch with Amy.
We wanted to make sure we snuck in some quality time with her before Baby Brinley comes.

Henry and his future friend.

Friday evening, I swung by Ella's 6th birthday party and dropped off Henry. PatPat and PawPaw took care of him while I rushed off to Dallas....

...To pick up Tom from the hospital. We headed over to the Arboretum, where the hospital was hosting a graduation celebration for the interns, graduating residents, and fellows.

Here Tom is with the internal medicine people.

And Radiology folks.
Thanks PatPat and PawPaw for babysitting!

Saturday afternoon, we went to a graduation party for Tom's cousin, Leah.

(Only pic I have from the event- chasing Henry around doesn't allow me to be the party pic girl anymore)

That night, we left sleeping Henry over at Kate and Brent's (thanks, guys!) and headed to the baseball game.

Great game! Multiple home runs! Rangers won.

(Not such a great pic- but we were pretty happy to be out for the second night in a row with out our darling little one)

We had tickets to the Colonial Golf Tournament on Sunday, but Henry and I let Tom go without us....
