San Antonio

Tom had a conference in San Antonio last week, and since we were already down in the Hill Country for our UTSW reunion, we joined him at the JW Marriott Resort.
We were very lucky that we got upgraded to a suite... it would have been interesting if we had all been in the same room. Was nice we didn't have to worry about Simon waking up the bigs and vice versa.

I had thought Margaret would sleep in a pack and play, but it worked out perfectly that she and Henry shared a bed.
So sweet.
Nothing better than laying in bed and watching TV.... my favorite part of hotels... and the comfy robes... got one of those, too :)

The resort had a kids area. Henry and Margaret enjoyed kicking some balls around. Beautiful weather... a bit windy, though, to Simon's dismay.

One of the best things about going with Tom was that we were able to spend some quality time with the Whitesides.

Evie was so sweet with Simon.

And it was super special that we got to meet Miss Gwyneth Mae!!
Simon and Gwennie (6 weeks apart) / Evie and Henry (4 months apart)... and Mary Pat likes to remind me that somehow I fit another kid in between them :)
Margaret Gray and Evie really got to bond this trip

We wanted to recreate Henry and Evie's picture with the Cow... had to use a make-shift Cow.

The last day we visited the resort's "water park".
Relaxing poolside
oooo, it was a bit chilly with the wind. We visited the kids' pool first.
I was surprised that Henry went down this slide. I know it doesn't look like much, but he's quite the cautious child.
What was REALLY crazy, is that Henry went down one of the 275 foot tube slide, half of it was in complete darkness (he'll tell you it was "pitch dark!"), by himself, twice.
Snoozin in the shade
So glad Mary Pat, Evie, and Gwyneth got to join us. Kids had a blast swimming together.
The last night, Tom went out to dinner with some colleagues. The kids and I got to enjoy room service. They thought it was so fun... and I have to admit, so did I.

I had debated on whether we should have stayed with Tom or go home, and I am so glad we did stay. We had so much fun.

Brothers

I get a lot of "Simon looks like Henry."
Here are some comparison pictures... they do look alike, not exactly alike... just like brothers.

Like Simon's blankets?

Henry's legs- wow, that's all I can say.
I've always seen a little of Margaret in Simon.... I like how he "builds a bridge" between Henry and Margaret Gray.

Simon- 3 months

Loving our Simon man!
Really such a sweet little fellow.
His smiles have come out full force this month.
Tom and I agree that Simon is our most smiley baby... which is funny, since he has been our fussiest one, too.
Started sleeping a little longer at night. Likes to go to bed between 6:30 and 8 then goes between 6 to 8 hours before waking again to be fed.
Naps are "eh". Sometimes I get 1.5-2 hours out of him.
Wants to sleep in his bed.... this makes running errands pretty difficult- doesn't want to fall asleep in his car seat when we are out and about.
Still likes to be swaddled. Paci isn't always neccessary.
Has started standing in our laps.
I've got to do better about giving him tummy time... wished he liked it better.

Likes to be propped up so he can "sit".

Here he is "reaching" for a toy.

I decided that I want to take a short video of him when I take his monthly pictures.

I put him on his changing pad, since that's where he likes to have a little chat. I think he talks to his dad the most.

Stage Fright

Henry had his spring PE program a couple of weeks ago.
He had been talking about doing the "Froggy Jump Jump Jump" for weeks, but unfortunately it turned out like I thought it would... with lots of tears.

When he walked in with his class, he was already crying.
(his teacher said he was fine until they got into the elevator... Henry later told me someone was going to push the emergency button and that scared him. Who knows??)

As he watched the other classes perform, he collected himself... but when it was his class' turn to go, he got nervous again.

Words of encouragement did not help :(

So he just walked around the tape...crying.

After it was over.... still crying.

Oh, and let me add that while we were waiting for the program to start, Simon was crying. While I was trying to get him to settle down, Margaret kept herself preoccupied... too bad it was in my purse... with my lipstick.

By the time the whole thing was over, I was sweating...to say the least.
Next time I'll insist that Tom comes. Work, shmork.

I didn't get any pics of the shower, but made sure to get one with my sweet friend that evening.

Happiness

Got caught putting on my lip gloss... on her cheek.

Margaret likes to put Piggie in Simon's carseat. She was pulling her arm to get her out, and the arm gave way. Tears. Oh, the tears, while Margaret stood there holding one arm.
Piggie has now been repaired.

My mom came for a visit

Ready to go on a walk
Celebrating Mardi Gras with his Hubigs (New Orleans based fried pies) onesie from Uncle Ross... the "chef's" name is Savory Simon.

We FINALLY got to meet precious Benjamin Burkhart! The Burkhart family came up for a shower for the Seamans... who will be welcoming Baby Connor VERY soon!
We hosted a couples dessert shower.
Theme: Great Thinkers... long story... but very well done.
Such a fun time with great friends!

The morning of the shower, we met up at a park.
