Simon's Birthday Family Fun Day

Monday was Simon's actual birthday!

 

We were very fortunate that Tom was able to take off and enjoy the day with us.

 

First off pancake breakfast...

I know, I know... I washed it.

 

After breakfast, we all went to the Y and came home for Simon's morning nap. He took a loooong one... I think he knew he needed to save up his energy for the big day ahead.

 

Our 1st stop was the Dallas World Aquarium.

It's been on our bucket list of things to do in the area before we leave, so we thought this was the perfect opportunity to go- Simon loves animals.

 

Get ready for a lot of pictures of the back of their heads.... I'll keep the commentary to a minimum :)

Our last stop was the gift shop. Margaret was happy to push her new jaguar in the stroller.

 Guess we should have asked MG if she needed to use the restroom before we left...

We had a great time. Tom and I had been there before having kids and it was fun to return and experience their excitement/ awe of the animals.

 

 

 

 

Our next stop was the new Klyde Warren Park that was built above the Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

Cool place.

 

As we headed through downtown to go home, we passed by Neiman Marcus and Henry shouted "I want to go there!".

Ok. Scrounged for some change for a parking meter and we were set.

Picture doesn't do it justice. The tubes wrapped around the corner and down the street.

Thank goodness Margaret is as tall as a 4 year old and she was able to enjoy the tubes with her big brother.

 

 

 

After going about 5 times (and Henry starting to melt since Margaret "beat" him one time), we decided it was time to go.

 

 



My mom told me that every year during Christmas time, she and my grandmother would get dressed up and go see Neiman's storefront windows.

 

 

It was about 4:30 when we left. All kids fell asleep.

Back in Arlington, Tom dropped me off at the grocery store to let the kids sleep a little longer in the car.

Found a jewel of a cake for Simon.

 

 



Ordered a pizza.
