Memorial Day 09

We spent Memorial Day down the street at Kate and Brent's.

It was going to be Henry's first dip of the summer.

Tom got Henry dressed.

Here is his first swim diaper.

(Poor guy, the older he gets, the worse I feel about posting incriminating pics of him- but this pic was too funny!)

Getting mentally prepared.

Hated it. Hate-ed it!

Screamed like a girl -even when his Uncle Brent took him for a lap around the pool.

He was glad to be out and in his mommy's arms.

"Got your tickets for the gun show?"

A nice day with friends and family.

Thanks to all who serve our country.

All in 24 hours

Friday afternoon, we hopped in the car and drove to the Port city.
Henry and M'Dear were looking for the small alligator that now lives in the pond behind my parents' house. Thank goodness all they spotted were turtles. Henry loves his alligators in his nursery, but I'm not sure I wanted him to see a live one up close and personal!

MMM! Strawn's pie! Henry's first taste of the delicious dessert!

Saturday, I went to a shower for my dear friend, Jana. She is getting married in October. It was a real sweet shower and it was great to see her!

After that, I hurried back to my parents', Tom and Henry jumped in the car, and we headed back home... Was the quickest trip to Shreveport I think we have ever had!

Mother's Day

Henry and Tom got me these beautiful flowers and chocolate...mmmm.

Here is last year's Mother's Day:
And, this year:

After church, we had lunch at Tom's parent's house.
It was a special time celebrating the mothers in the family.
Ella, Henry, Thomas, and Baby Alice

Tom, his grandmother, and mother

Henry's Sunday School gift for me :)

Sarah Grace, SciPort, & Steaks

On Thursday, Henry and I made the journey east to meet Henry's newest cousin, Sarah Grace.

So sweet

Henry only fell on Sarah Grace once :)

On Friday, Elizabeth, the girls, Henry, and I took my grandmother out to lunch for Mother's Day. (no pic)
Later that day, we took the kiddos to a children's science museum.
It was neat to see Henry's face light up when we walked in the door.
Unfortunately, we got there at 4:40, and the place closed at 5... we told Madeline and Henry to play extra fast.

The cousins

Friday night, Henry and I went to my good friend, Kristen's, birthday dinner at her parents' house. Henry had fun playing with his friend, Thomas and I got to enjoy a yummy steak dinner.
Thanks for letting me celebrate with you, Kristen!

On Saturday, we headed back home.
It was kind of a whirlwind trip, but definitely worth seeing our family and friends.

May Birthdays

May brings a lot of birthdays in the Louis Family. We got together last weekend to celebrate Kate's and Walter's birthdays.

Other Louis Family birthdays:two of our nieces- Adelae and Ella, Tom's brother- Ross, and our sister-in-law- Jenny

Shower for Amy and Baby Brinley

On Saturday, we hosted a baby shower for our good friend, Amy, who is due in June.
Henry helped me cook the day before
Here we are- the hostesses with Amy

Yummy food

Dessert and decor

Amy's loot- she got some great stuff!

The husbands (sans Tom, he had to work) hung out in our bedroom, played the Wii, and took care of the babies.
Afterwards, we all ended up in there- never thought I would have that many people hanging out on my bed!

It was a great day showering Amy and hanging out with our friends.
