Celebrating Mamaw

Back in February, while my mom was in Birmingham waiting for Camille to make her appearance, we got a call that my grandmother had a stroke.
My mother raced to Texas as fast as she could and was able to spend a couple of days with her mother before having to say goodbye.
It was hard.

My grandfather was actually in the hospital at the same time with a broken hip.
My mom was able to kidnap him from his room, so that he was able to say goodbye to his wife of 70 years.
He was able to stand, broken hip and all, to kiss her on her head.

I have so many many fond memories of my grandmother-  she drove using both feet, she made sure we knew proper etiquette, LOVED Ross (dress for less), used the word "yonder" frequently, and would stand on their porch and wave and wave as we drove away.
I'm fortunate enough to even remember her laugh.

Seeing that I had Camille 3 days after she passed away, we were unable to make it to her funeral.

We planned on the whole family getting together in Dallas the weekend we were to come in to find a house.

We all met at the Arboretum, had lunch together, shared lots of laughs, and enjoyed being family.
My Mamaw wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Millie Girl meeting her great grandfather!

He's a special man.

Tried to get a picture of all the cousins.
Larkin and Simon were sooo not feeling it.

 Almost

I think this was as good as it got!

Little Olivia- yet another red head that's not mine ;)

This picture makes my heart happy.
