Fort Worth Stock Show

Since Saturday was such a beautiful day, we decided to head on out to the Fort Worth Stock Show. We thought Henry would be more excited about the animals then he actually was. There was a petting zoo that we didn't make it to- he probably would have enjoyed that more. Maybe next year Henry'll be more intrigued by smelly animals. It was nice to be outside, though.
Ready to go! After running the wagon into the back of my foot and Henry flying forward, we decided that the seat belt is actually needed.
Loving the tractor

Kinda scared of the horse.

Uncle Ross- This pic is for you. The cow's name was Model T.

Not interested in the goats.

"Let me outta here!"
If you ever go to the stock show, get one of these- a cowboy burrito- yum!

Fresh Funnel Cake- yum! yum!

This sign sums up the whole experience!

This is what happens when I leave Henry's bowl within his reach:

Jenny's Shower

On Saturday, we hosted a baby shower for my good friend Jenny.
Amy and I were in charge of the invites and decorations, so here are a few pics of our creations :)

Kristen ordered these cute chocolate bars as favors. They had Bekah's (Jenny's baby) name on them instead of "Hershey's"

I made the onesies. Jenny said she loved them even though I think I still have a lot to learn.
The one on the left is supposed to be a dachshund (Jenny has a sweet one-Charlie).
Amy made the tutu and my niece's ballet slippers came in handy.

I made this, too. We hung it on the front door.

(If you haven't figured it out, Jenny has a ballerina theme going on in her nursery. She's using Degas' ballerinas)

I assembled the diaper cake and Amy made it look beautiful!

Christy, me, Prego Jenny (due in April), Prego Amy (due in June), and Prego Kristen (due in March)
The shower was a hit!

Miserable Henry.

(He got sick last Wednesday and is still recovering... much better though. Tom was on call on Saturday so Henry had to come with me to the shower... bummer for both of us)

I'll Fly Away...

Ready to Roll..

We finally gave Henry's Christmas present a try.

(my sister tells me that Henry looks like a retired, old man in this pic)

9 months

Yep, he's 9 months old today. (sigh)
Check out those teeth. Believe me, they are sharp!

He's getting so skinny!
He goes to the doctor for his check up at the end of this month.

Crawling

This video was taken about a week ago.

He started his new skill over Christmas... I think he was trying to get away from my mom's dog.

(Henry loves my cell phone. Usually, it's a "no-no" to let him have it, but I needed it to lure him away from the dresser.)

(Tom had just given him a bath = no clothes. It being January = the hat)

Louis Christmas- January 1st

Since all of Tom's siblings spend Christmas Eve/Day with their in-laws, the whole family gets together around New Year's to celebrate.
Pat Pat started off the day with reading the story of Jesus' birth and the grandkids lit the Advent Candles.

Exchanging Presents

Tom's saying "Wiiiii!"

Henry with his cousin, Arden

Tom's sister,Kate, is due in April. She found out what she is having and surprised her husband and kids with the news. Ella's reaction is priceless... so excited to be having a baby sister- Alice.

PatPat and PawPaw got bikes

Louis girls from Louisiana

Henry was a trooper... There was a smile on his face, but he was not feeling well

Henry and Evie

Before the Louis Family present opening, Mary Pat and I tried to get a picture of Henry and Evie. Tom was in charge of getting the two situated, but with Henry's new love of crawling and Evie still mastering sitting up, it was quite the challenge.

Finally, they were sitting by each other...

New Year's Eve

We have spent the last 4 New Year's with Tom's siblings.
This year, all of us went over to his sister's house to welcome the new year.
You know you're getting lame when the only picture you post of your New Year's Eve is of your child sleeping, but when we went to get him up to take him home, this is how we found him... bottoms up!

Let's Bowl

On Wednesday, once all of Tom's siblings got into town (sans Alex) we went to bowl. Tom's family is pretty competitive... me? not so much. But I do think I bowled better than I have ever bowled before and I might be starting to like the game a little more.
Team 2 (we didn't need uniforms... our coolness unified us)
Team 1

Team 3
Strike!
Poor Henry... he caught a nasty cold at the beginning of the week. He was miserable!
Here he is trying to roll over onto his stomach to sleep.

Finally fell asleep

Cousins (sans Sam and Addie)

I felt bad about Henry looking so much like a ragamuffin, so I put his shoes on him...bad idea... loves to suck on them.
