Texas State Fair 2009

On Friday night, we met up with some friends to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Fair.

We always love going to see the car show.

It was great spending time with little Brinley...

(Brinley was a trooper the whole time. I just think this pic is the cutest. sorry Amy)

... and baby Witt. (The Hartzlers were in town for a conference)

Of course we had to get our Fletcher's Corn Dogs.

Henry's 1st taste of the delicacy.

The girls

Tom getting psyched about the Fried Butter. It was really good. Tasted like a buttery biscuit.

Henry and I were supposed to go back to the fair on Tuesday with a bunch of friends, but due to illnesses, it got canceled.
Luckily, Tom works real close to the fair grounds. So Henry and I met Tom for dinner.

Henry enjoyed the bird show for about 15 mins.

The real reason I wanted to go back to the fair- Fried Peaches and Cream.

Yum!

And we went to the petting zoo.
Henry did not partake in the petting...

... Just gave the animals a friendly wave.

I'll leave you with this pic... what in the world is this??

Videos

Just some random "show and tell" videos.

Here, Henry is showing off his new skill of saying "no":

(please ignore the first 3 seconds)

It's funny because he'll say "no" at inappropriate times... like when I asked him if he wanted a cookie... his loss.

And here are his various body parts.

Playing Catch Up...

Some photos from the end of September:

Henry and I went to Ella's first soccer game.
During half time, PawPaw kicked the ball around with some of his grandsons.
Henry got to be the goalie.
Henry, Thomas, Arden (in from New Orleans), and PawPaw

Ella was the real goalie. The Ponytails won their first game.

We went to Shreveport for my friend's engagement party.
Trisha is getting married in December, and I probably won't be able to make it to her wedding.
I'm glad we got to at least make it to this shindig.

About to leave for the party (thanks Jenny for the dress!)

The next day, we had brunch with my parents, Elizabeth and her two girls.
Madeline showing off her first missing tooth.

Cousins Madeline, Sarah Grace, and Henry... with Lila the doll.

Lately, Henry has been enjoying putting on our shoes... or as he calls them "shhhhhhs"

Our last Ranger game of the year. :(
We bought tickets for the playoffs in hopes that they made it, but unfortunately they didn't.

(View this season's Opening Day... Henry has grown!)

Playdate at the Overstreets.
Thanks Christy for the great day!
Henry stealing Kara's grapes.

He had a fun time hanging out with the girls, Kara, Ava, and Brinley.

This past weekend, we went to Leah's 1st birthday party.
Henry with the birthday girl and her brother, Luke, during the kids pic.

Had a lot of fun playing at the party!

SO... that's about it.

Whoop, there it is...

Tom and I went to his 10 year high school reunion on Friday night...
I took the opportunity to take a pic of my growing belly (22 weeks) with the Senior Class President.
We had a good time catching up with Tom's old friends.
That night, Henry had his 1st sleepover with PatPat and PawPaw and had a blast- thank you guys so much!!!
On Saturday morning, we slept til 8:30... went to have breakfast by ourselves... it was nice.

Labor Day

On Labor Day, we cooled off in the Wood's pool.
Henry- not too excited to be in the water.
I'm hoping he'll like it more next summer.

He did, though, enjoy playing basketball with Tom.

Luckily, they have a really cool swing set that he loves.

Choo Choo

Last Saturday morning, we decided to take Henry on a train ride to downtown Fort Worth.

We ate lunch at this sandwich shop that is located
in the station.

Then we went walking around downtown Fort Worth.

We stopped at the Fort Worth Water Gardens.
They actually expect that people will not swim in this body of water.
So why did they make it the color of the average swimming pool with steps leading into it??

Henry fell and got his first really bloody knees.
(My mom told me to remember how soft and sweet his knees were the day he was born , because soon they would no longer be the same)

More water gardens

Tom and Henry in the lobby of the new Omni Hotel....
Being pregnant, I was relieved to see this fancy "pit stop" on the way back to the station.

Ready to go home.

It was fun to get out and do something different with the family :)

Zoo Time

Last week, Henry and I met our friends, Mrs. Michelle, Leah, and Luke at the zoo.
I thought Henry would enjoy seeing this gorilla up close and personal.

Let's take a closer look at how Henry was really feeling about being that close to the gorilla:
Terrified!

Didn't mind touching the snake, though.

We ran into Caroline, a friend from church, at the penguins.

Luke and Henry ready to go.

Our friend, Alice

Henry's youngest Louis cousin, Alice, comes and plays with us 2 days a week. It's been, and will continue to be, good practice for me to "juggle" two little ones. Henry enjoys her being around and I'm really lucky that Alice is such an easy baby!

l love Alice's expression here!

Playing at the Park

Since the weather has cooled off (well, it had, and I hope it will again) we decided to take our dinner to a nearby park.
It's nice that Henry's gotten bigger and is able to be more independent on the playground.

Fork, Anyone??

Henry has been working on using a fork.

Bon Appetit!

(No, he didn't eat all the brocolli)
