8 months

Seeing that I was deathly ill on the day Henry turned 8 months, I didn't take "8th month pics".
So I'll share these special pics with you.

Our Tree

We finally decorated our tree. Hanging the ornaments on it confirmed the fact that this is the worst tree we've ever gotten. The needles are already falling off and the branches are sagging.

Tom's favorite ornament from his childhood.

My favorite from my childhood.
Henry doesn't have a favorite, yet.

Our stockings.
I got Henry the airplanes since he is named after my dad (Charles), and he was in the Air Force.
(Yes, I forgot to take the tag off before I took the pic.)

Christmas Parade

Saturday night, we attended the Arlington Parade of Lights.
It's definitely something else to put on "Fun Central's" resume.

Waiting for the floats to come...

Our niece and nephew came with us. It was nice to have kids there that appreciated the parade.

We enjoyed the parade with our friends, the Barkers. Henry loves Audrey.

Some of the stellar floats:

Tom's parents joined us. PawPaw thinks our family should enter a float next year... hmm...
Whoa, Henry... don't get too excited!

And our cue to go:

But we had to stay to the end to see the big Christmas tree lit.
(Casey, I stole your pic)

Good times!

Random Happenings...

"Thanks, Mom, for dressing me to match my diaper bag. I'm going to get a wedgie in the nursery..."

This is how we put Henry to bed:

And sometimes we find him like this: Sometimes like this:

And sometimes like this:

He has outgrown his baby bathtub and upgraded to the real deal.

He enjoys it.

We went to get our Christmas tree with Tom's sister and her family.
The first year we were married, we went to a tree farm to cut one down, like Tom's family has always done. That tree was pretty puny, so for the last 4 years, we've gone to Home Depot. Since the experince just isn't the same as a tree farm, we go with Tom's parents to help pick out their's. Not sure if they're going this year, though???

I've made it a competition to see who can get the better tree. We've always won.. but this year- not so much. Have we decorated it yet? No.

Forgot my camera, so we took a pic when we got home.

Once a week, we've been going to the public library's story time with our friends Casey and Audrey. It's on hiatus right now and will start back up in January. Henry and Audrey like the songs, books, and watching the older kids bother the librarian.

My good friend, Jana, came to visit one afternoon. She had interviewed at UTSW for a residency spot in Emergeny Medicine and afterwards wanted to come meet Henry. It was really good to see her- she's such an upbeat, positive, funny person!

(*UTSW peeps*- too bad she didn't get to visit that long. The interview day took longer than she thought- she said they spent forever talking about how awesome they were and about their Nobel Laureates! ha!)

Here's a pic of PawPaw and his "in-town" grandkids at Family Dinner. Once a week, my in-laws have us and Tom's other in-town siblings over for dinner. It's one of our favorite nights of the week. The meals are always extra yummy!

Since Henry's top 2 teeth have started to come in, this is what we have been seeing a lot of:

He's a mess!

Thanksgiving Day

Another great Thanksgiving! My favorite food day of the year!

On Wednesday night, we went over to my in-laws for dinner. Henry and Evie wore their onesies that I made them. This picture makes me laugh. Henry can be kinda aggressive.
Tom had to work Thanksgiving. Henry woke up early to tell him goodbye.

Henry and I went up to the hospital to check out where Tom works. After 4 1/2 months, I no longer feel that I send him to a black hole every day...

After our hospital visit, we went over to Tom's aunt and uncle's to enjoy our food, folks, and fun! It was a great day!

M'dear and Maddie's Visit

My mom (M'dear... we think that's what Henry is going to call her... we've gone through several names) and my niece, Madeline, came in town for a quick Thanksgiving visit. Madeline was SO excited to see "her Baby Henry", she could hardly control herself! She's going to be an excellent big sister. (Elizabeth is due in May)

On Monday, we went to see my sweet grandparents. My grandfather was delighted to play with his great-grandchildren.

Madeline found my aunt's cowboy hat.

Too big for Henry...

... too small for Papaw.

It was time to go... can you tell ?
