Our Easter 2011

Good Friday

Our Easter celebration started on Friday evening with our small group.

We got together to eat dinner, have an egg hunt, and share the Easter story with the kids.

Henry did not get the memo that it wasn't a swimming party and climbed into their super duper kiddie pool... luckily our hosts, the Hannons, have boys the same size as Henry with clothes he could borrow.

"Back away from my cookie."

The only pic where everyone is seen. I love James- far right :)

Henry and Margaret Gray aren't the best hunters. They both find an egg, spend about 1 min trying to open the egg, eat all that is in the egg, then go to find another... all while everyone else is filling their baskets.

Fun evening!

Easter Day

I had to include this pic.

Getting ready to look their Easter best

The best I could get of them in there Easter outfits

Ready for church

We saved Easter baskets until after church.

Tom had worked the night before and walked in the door at 8:30 that morning... we didn't have much time to spare.

Margaret was truly excited about her new soap.

Modeling what you do with a bath poof

After lunch and naps, we went over to the Woods for Easter dinner.

It was very nice to have it at that time- very relaxing.... kids were happy.

Cousins

Ready for the hunt

The Woods have an "adopted" cat, Kitty Kitty. Margaret LOVES her.

Sweet pic with Uncle Brent

Bike rides with PawPaw. Safe.

And we ended the evening with swimming. Don't ask. I'm not sure what was happening. All I know is that I'm very thankful Margaret Gray will be getting swim lessons this summer. She is nuts about the water. Makes me a mommy I don't like being- crazy nervous!

We are thankful this Easter for the life that God has blessed us with. Even more, we praise Him for being the final sacrifice and raising from the dead, so that we may have eternal life with the Lord.

Tom's Birthday Trip

For Tom's 30th Birthday, he wanted to take a trip to the hill country.

So we did. It was a great time. Here are the pics:

On the way down to San Antonio, we took back roads and stopped at this BBQ place. Pretty tasty.

Margaret Gray enjoyed the ribs!

After a successful car ride down, we got to our resort, settled in our room, and headed to the pools.

Kids didn't know what to think of the lazy river.

Oreo eating after dinner (our room had a full kitchen)

And Dog Louis might have fallen off the balcony. You should have seen Henry's face.

The next morning, we went exploring around the resort.

And swam a little before naps.

That night, we went over to the Whitesides (Tom's sister, Mary Pat, Ryan, and Evie) and the kids had all sorts of fun with them while Tom and I went out to dinner.

Thanks Whitesides and thanks Jenny for the great restaurant recommendation!

Saturday morning, we met up with the Whitesides again at a farmers' market.

There was a great jazz band and the kids loved dancing to the music.

After eating lunch- a little train hopping

That afternoon, we visited the beach/river again

And hit the hot tub- the kids loved it!

Some ice cream after dinner

Wish I had more pics of the room- Tom chose wisely for our family. It was very spacious. Margaret Gray slept in the kitchen and Henry slept in the front entry way.

On the way home... MG is always reaching for Henry's hand. He's not on board with the hand holding, but I guess he was fine with a little footsie.

As always, nice to be together as a family, away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.

A week later, we had Tom and PatPat's Birthday Dinner:

(Cousin Alice celebrated her 2nd birthday and we were able to go to her party the day we got back from her trip... but I don't have any pics... Ross, leave your comments to yourself)

The kids and I got Tom's medical school diploma framed for his present. He was excited (not that we have anywhere to hang it, though)

Happy 30th, Tom!!!
