Christmas with PatPat and PawPaw 2013

PatPat and PawPaw arrived the night before Christmas Eve.
We were so excited they could come celebrate this special holiday with us!

Christmas Eve we met up with Jack and Leigh and took a morning hike at Ruffner Mountain Preserve.

Poor Simon... in all the craziness of getting out the door, we forgot a jacket, hat, gloves, etc for the little guy...
He was miserable and pretty much cried the whole time. Whoops.

Playing hang man with PawPaw.

 Before Christmas Eve service
I got these outfits at the end of last season.
Never wore them so they became their Christmas outfits.

We went to our church's Christmas Eve service.
Super sweet to hear my kids sing Christmas carols, even Simon was trying... a good service.

Came back to have a yummy meal.
Brisket, Twice Baked potatoes, salad, squash casserole, rolls.
Oooo, it was good.
Pecan pie for dessert.

Last year PJs were going to have to work...

I feel like we didn't get to a million things that day....
(ie- making cookies for Santa)
but got the most important complete...

A Christmas Eve devotional and singing Christmas carols.
It was a really special evening.

Got the kids to bed and Santa's elves came out to work.

PatPat's boots were going to have to work for their stockings.

Christmas Day

Christmas Morning after Santa Tom delivered our Christmas PJs... well this year it was robes.

Waiting to come down!

Tom also got Homewood tees for everyone.

PawPaw kept the kids occupied before opening presents

Then it began!

 Rainboots from Grandmother Peggy

 Took a break for breakfast-
Cheese Grits, Sausage Balls, Fruit,

After present opening, we got bundled up and walked down to the church up the road...

At the bottom of this hill is a very busy street. Yikes!

There is a flat parking lot which is great for the kids to ride their new modes of transportation.

I like the wreaths we hung in our windows.

Such a special day filled with lots of love and laughter!
Thank you, Christ, for being our most awesome gift.
