7 years

Last week, Tom and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary.
"What did you do?", you ask.
Well, that morning, after having pancakes, we went on a family outing to the grocery store.

Later, we went together to buy each other an anniversary gift... a set of frying pans :)
Tom just drove to the mall and said "pick a store"... we were supposed to split up and take 20 mins to choose a gift for the other spouse, but Margaret and I couldn't find anything for Tom... and I really wanted the frying pans instead of the dress Henry and Tom chose for me.
(The traditional gifts for 7 years are copper and wool... well, we just couldn't make the trip to New Zealand work like one website suggested, so we settled for cookware.)

Then we went out to dinner... which was a complete disaster, since Margaret wanted nothing more than to eat and go to bed. As soon as the food came, we asked for the check and to-go boxes. :)

It was nothing fancy, but we were together. What more could I ask for?
I love you dearly, Tom.

The picture above is one of my favorites from our wedding.
While changing out of my wedding dress, I realized that I had forgotten my "going-away" shoes... so I just went barefoot.
(My scanner stinks! I wish I had digital copies of my pics... any suggestions on how to do that?)

Our 4th

Due to Tom's work schedule we didn't do much.
Snapped a few pics before I took the kids to church.

Alex's Wedding

Tom's oldest sister, Alex, got married last weekend.
We had a blast celebrating with her and Jim!

The weekend started on Thursday night, with the boys going to a baseball game and the girls going out for fondue and martinis.

Good friends

The girls L-R:
Jim's sister, Allison, 3 of Alex's childhood friends, PatPat, Alex, me, Mary Pat, Jenny, and Kate(Jenny and I swear we are taller than that!)

It was so fun to be out with the girls... I haven't been out til 1 in the morning in a long time!

For the "rehearsal dinner", we went over to Kate and Brent's and had fajitas.

I had MP snap a photo of us before dinner... Tom was working until 8 that night.

Alex with sweet Jackson... the Charlotte redheads.

Henry LOVED, LOVED being around Gabe. Ever since Easter Weekend (when the New Orleans Louises were up here) Henry hasn't stopped talking about them. (We even got booted out of Henry's prayer- now he says "Gabe, Arden, Isabelle, Amen.")

Ella, Isabelle, Evie, Addie, and Mary Pat

So, I'll take you back to my wedding for a sec....
(I can make this about me can't I?? It is my blog)

During my, I mean our, rehearsal dinner, PawPaw announced that he had a "friend" write music to some lyrics he wrote... The music started playing (You are the Only One by James Taylor... PawPaw never said, but I think he chose this particular song since Tom had another girlfriend when we met...and didn't tell me about... I'll never let that one die) and he began to dance with me.... then he passed me to Tom's oldest brother, Ross, then I went to Walter, then to Jack, and then while my back was turned, Tom came and cut in.

It was such a special moment!

Anyhoo-

The tradition has continued at Louis rehearsal dinners.

Bride and Groom

Evie wanted to show her dancing skills, too!

Wedding Day
Their event was held at this cottage/barn venue. (I'm great at describing!)
It was a really beautiful place... with a baseball field. Random, but perfect for our family.

The day began with a big breakfast and games.
Such a darling cottage!

Alex and Jim

We didn't teach him a baseball stance...he's a natural.

Big game of kickball

Margaret was nice enough to go down for a nap upstairs in the cottage.

Megan, Walter, and Jackson

Kate and Alice

After a restful afternoon at home, we met again for the ceremony/dinner/dancing.

Margaret wanted to show off her dress that PatPat made... all 6 granddaugthers got coordinating antique pillow case dresses. We love ours!

Beautiful Bride and Adelae
Addie wasn't so excited about wearing the flowers in her hair... she didn't realize how adorable she looked :)

This is one of my favorite photos-
Sam looking in on his momma and sister.

Louis Cousins L-R:

Jim is a huge Alabama fan... hence the cake topper.

Jenny and I making our "crazy girl Facebook profile pic" face.
I love sharing laughs with her!

My handsome groom

After a delicious dinner at the cottage, there was dancing upstairs in the barn.

Jenny provided the tunes.

Tom and Ross got "props" with which to dance

Kate, PatPat, and PawPaw
(I'm sad that I didn't get a better pic of my in-laws... they put on a fantastic wedding)

Ross and Jenny brought the New Orleans flavor

Great pic of the Whitesides

And the incredible day began to wind down....

Congratulations!!

We love you, Alex, Jim, Sam, and Addie!
