Tom's Birthday Trip

For Tom's 30th Birthday, he wanted to take a trip to the hill country.

So we did. It was a great time. Here are the pics:

On the way down to San Antonio, we took back roads and stopped at this BBQ place. Pretty tasty.

Margaret Gray enjoyed the ribs!

After a successful car ride down, we got to our resort, settled in our room, and headed to the pools.

Kids didn't know what to think of the lazy river.

Oreo eating after dinner (our room had a full kitchen)

And Dog Louis might have fallen off the balcony. You should have seen Henry's face.

The next morning, we went exploring around the resort.

And swam a little before naps.

That night, we went over to the Whitesides (Tom's sister, Mary Pat, Ryan, and Evie) and the kids had all sorts of fun with them while Tom and I went out to dinner.

Thanks Whitesides and thanks Jenny for the great restaurant recommendation!

Saturday morning, we met up with the Whitesides again at a farmers' market.

There was a great jazz band and the kids loved dancing to the music.

After eating lunch- a little train hopping

That afternoon, we visited the beach/river again

And hit the hot tub- the kids loved it!

Some ice cream after dinner

Wish I had more pics of the room- Tom chose wisely for our family. It was very spacious. Margaret Gray slept in the kitchen and Henry slept in the front entry way.

On the way home... MG is always reaching for Henry's hand. He's not on board with the hand holding, but I guess he was fine with a little footsie.

As always, nice to be together as a family, away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.

A week later, we had Tom and PatPat's Birthday Dinner:

(Cousin Alice celebrated her 2nd birthday and we were able to go to her party the day we got back from her trip... but I don't have any pics... Ross, leave your comments to yourself)

The kids and I got Tom's medical school diploma framed for his present. He was excited (not that we have anywhere to hang it, though)

Happy 30th, Tom!!!
