Our dear friends, the McAdams, moved away last June.
Dr.Rocky got a REAL job in Abilene.
Before they moved, we had a going away "craft night". These sweet girls (missed Meagan and Allie) and I have been getting together (almost) monthly for almost over a year. The original plan was to complete projects we were working on for the kids/house, but sometimes all we did was eat and talk way too late into the night.
This night we each made Amy something for her new house.
Tana, Vaune, Amy, and Kristen
We already miss Amy's craft ideas and most of all her humor!
We also had a going away supper club at the Warminskis.
Love this group of friends- love that most of the time we have no clue where are kids are or what they're doing and we can enjoy adult conversation.
Fast forward a couple of weekends ago...
We couldn't wait to visit the McAdams in their new house so we made the short trip over to Abilene.
After getting the kids to bed on Friday night, we enjoyed watching the West Texas sun set and eating dinner on their back porch.
Saturday morning we headed out to take a "tour" of Abilene.
1st stop- a local donut shop
Yummy hot out of the oven donuts!
So delicious that MG had quite the meltdown when I made her split the last donut hole with Henry. :)
Then went downtown.
Ode to Shreveport native, William Joyce's Santa Calls.
He used to live a couple of streets away from the house I grew up in, and we would go knock on his door and have him sign our books.
Attempt at a group photo
Next stop, National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature.
They had Dr. Seuss' original drawing of The Lorax on display.
Doc Rock began reading The Lorax to the kiddos... didn't last.
The daddies took off to play some golf and we checked out the reading area and gift shop.
Our final destination was a prairie dog park.
Funny little place :)
And a little swinging.
Back to the McAdams' for lunch, naps, a walk, kid dinner...
and a date night with Rocky and Amy! Wish I had gotten an adult only pic.
Henry took this one
We went to the best steakhouse! Cool atmosphere. Amazing food. Even better friends.
We had such a great time visiting you, McAdams!
Thank you Rocky, Amy, and Brinley for being such great hosts! Can't believe the next time I see you guys, little Cason will be here!
