Simon- 9 months

Almost 2 weeks ago, Simon turned 9 months. 

 



This month definitely has had its ups and downs.

 

Teething rocked our world. His top 2 teeth were super painful and super slow coming in. I've never seen gums look so gruesome. But thank goodness, we're pass those and he currently has 5 teeth.

 

 

Sleeps around 11-11.5 hours at night, which wouldn't be bad if he didn't wake up between  5 and 5:30. We've REALLY tried to slowly push his bedtime back, but its been more difficult that one would think.

 

For the most part, has 2 naps down, but tends to get pretty cranky around 4:30 in the afternoon, and can occasionally take a 3rd nap.

 

Simon is starting to seem more and more like a little boy and less like a baby.

 

Thinks its real funny to babble and likes to mimic sounds we make.

 

 

Loves to bang toys together or on the floor... will do anything to make loud noise :)

 

Chases balls around.

Constantly gets himself stuck in rooms. Will crawl in and shut the door behind him. Then will stand up and bang on the door. Makes opening the door to get him out kinda difficult.



 

Started to enjoy books. Will no longer immediately grab them out of our hands to chew on... he'll actually sit and look at the pics for a little while. (this comes in handy at 5:30 in the morning when trying to keep him quiet)

 

 

Started finger foods. Cheese. Crackers. Toast. Doesn't like pasta... boooo. Added spices- cinnamon, nutmeg, cumin.

And how awesome are those baby food pouches where they can feed themselves! Why did I never give those my other 2?!?

 

 

Wanted to crawl off the chair like he did last month.





My phone helped him sit still...

Cruises along the furniture and started walking behind our push toy.

Also plays peek a boo, but I never could get him to perform for the camera... I know you're disappointed.

 

We try to keep his loveys  in the bed... so he crawls over and pulls his elephant out enough to give it a cuddle.

Loves to watch Brother and Sister play outside... but doesn't really like that he can't always join them.

 

Can stand for a few seconds without holding on to anything

 

 This is his expression when he sees Tom getting out of his car. Loves his daddy. Says "Dah" when he see Tom, but also says "dah" plenty of other random times.

 

 

29 1/2 inches

21 lbs 1 ounce

 

Love you, Simon James!!! 3 more months!!!

 

(Yep, Simon James is not his name, but somehow I started calling him that and it's stuck. Its ok to have a real name for a nickname, right??)
