Meeting Mamaw and Papaw

Margaret finally met my mom's parents.
What is crazy is that Henry met my grandfather while he was in the hospital almost 2 years ago.
My Papaw told me that I've got to stop having kids, because he doesn't want to go to the hospital anymore :)
At least this time, Papaw was only in the hospital a couple of days and is doing better now.
(and you might be wondering why I take my newborns up to the hospital to see my sick grandfather- nothing contagious)
Papaw said he "wasn't trying to be Hollywood"- that he left his other glasses at his farm.

We enjoyed our visit with Papaw and Henry enjoyed his graham crackers.

The next week (on our way to the Arboretum) we dropped off some food and Margaret got to meet Mamaw Margaret.

Henry had fun playing with Mamaw.
While they were jumping up and down (and I was praying she wouldn't fall) Papaw said that he hadn't seen my grandmother exert that much energy in a while. I'm super lucky that Henry and Margaret get to meet their great grandparents... cause they're super special people.

Hats for Sale

Well, they're not for sale... but I couldn't think of a title.
We've seen Henry's hat that my mom made for him.
It was getting a little small, so she made him a new one.
And of course, Margaret got one too!
Henry didn't want to hold her at first.

Then, he couldn't resist giving her a hug.
She's just so cute!

Thanks for the hats, MiMi!
Not only do they keep your grandkids' heads warm, they make me giggle!

I Did It!

I took the kiddos to Shreveport all by myself!
(Tom had to work all weekend)
They did great in the car (even on the way there- when we got stuck in traffic in Shreveport- took 30 mins to go 3 miles- luckily Margaret stayed asleep and Henry occupied himself by "reading" numbers on trucks)
On Friday night, we went straight to my sister, Elizabeth's house and had dinner there.
Henry posing with cousin, "Maddie Mooooo"

Margaret making funny faces with Uncle Chris

Madeline thought Margaret would enjoy talking with her doll, Lila

Saturday afternoon, I took the kids over to my grandmother's house. Margaret Gray was super excited to meet her great-grandmother, Margaret Gray.
She slept in her arms the whole time.

My grandmother has lost her sight, so it was extra special that Margaret was so content in her arms.

Elizabeth, Chris, Madeline, and Sarah Grace met us over there.

I tried to get a pic of the great grandkiddos with Grandmother. Henry was not cooperative.

Sweet Sarah Grace

Henry kept himself entertained by:
talking on the phone,

playing with my grandmother's exercise ball,

and sneaking peppermints.
I thought I had put all the candy dishes away, but I found this little stinker helping himself to a secret stash.

Once again, Henry refusing to take a picture.

So we tried one more great grandkids pic:

"Where's Henry?", you ask...

Ahh, here he is.
Nice.
And that was my cue to go.

While Henry napped off his crankiness, Margaret and I hung out with my parents.

Somehow I didn't get any pics of my parents with the kids.
Margaret enjoyed snuggling with MiMi and Papa and
Henry had fun with them, too- going on walks, seeing the ducks, reading books,

playing their piano,

and showing them how to "open" pecans.

Watching the golfers
It's always nice to go home and spend time with my parents.

On Sunday afternoon, we went to visit our friends, the Blanchers.
Henry and Thomas played really well together.

And Margaret enjoyed being loved on by Kristen.

It was a successful trip... even though there were so many more friends and family we could have seen. (Baby steps, right?) Can't wait to go back and introduce Margaret to even more loved ones!

Awaiting Audrey

Last weekend we hosted a couples shower with the McAdams' and Burkharts for the Warminskis. They are expecting a little girl in April, their 2nd child.
Margaret dreaming about her new friend's arrival

Amy did a great job on the cake

Tom, Johnathan, and Rocky

Meagan and Amy...
Unfortunately, the Burkharts weren't able to make it... Poor Bekah was quite the sick one :(

Too bad we couldn't get a good pic of the kiddos. At least Brinley looks happy. Fortunately, this pic doesn't represent how the night went for them... they had a great time playing with each other!

Meagan got some great gifts!
It was a super fun shower!

Miss Margaret wore her party dress (compliments of her cousin Ella) to church the next day.

She's good at letting me know when she is finished taking pics :)

1 month check up and Goop

Last week we finally got to have Margaret's 1 month check up.
She seems to be growing right along!
11 lbs 2 oz (80th %)
23 1/4 inches (93rd %)
She got 1 shot... cried a little, but then was comforted in knowing that her band-aid matched her gown.

When my doctor walked into the room, he took one look at Henry and asked "What's wrong with him?"
I had noticed Henry's eye was kinda swollen when he woke up that morning.
I guess the doctor noticed it, too.... along with his chapped cheeks and chin- but that's another story.
Doc prescribed him an antibiotic, thank goodness because:

He didn't look that bad here:

But when he woke up from his nap, it was a different story.

He's all better now!
And I think Miss Margaret is currently going through a growth spurt- Wowza!

Much better!
